The Crossing was originally called the Dark Crossing, but I felt like that gave too much of the story away. It’s about the Queens courier having to cross a narrow bridge to only be held up by an old man who doesn’t seem to respect her authority. Needless to say there is more to this than what meets the eye. It’s relatively a short story, only about seven pages, but has a pretty good twist. I know not everyone is familiar with CGI art programs, but at the time of this drawing I didn’t know how to design my Royal Knight’s wardrobe. I knew what I wanted. I just didn’t know how to get the effect. So in the end I cheated and took two Anacondo snake props, flattened them, painted them black and wrapped them around her body. Only now do I know about transparency maps.
