If I have too weaknesses in genres, they would probably be fantasy and comedy. I love sci-fi and especially horror, so these come easy, but when I try to throw myself into the fantasy world I often find myself with writer’s block. And of course with comedy—I suck. I think I am the only one that laughs at my own jokes. But with Medusa, I had a wonderful breakthrough. While doing what should have been a five-page story with a twist, I came up with the Shadow Knight story line and my brain-lock was unfrozen. The only problem was that “Medusa” became a thirty-page fight in the extended story. You see what happens when you don’t stick to the script. In the end though, I fell in love with Medusa’s character and decided to keep her around for sequels.
For those who have already figured it out, Medusa and the Red Guardian are the same. I made some serious modifications to the costuming but not enough to totally disguise it. My bad.
